How to get the difference between 2 ages in excel ??

I have been asked to produce a spreadheet that will work out chronological ages and the difference between reading ages and chronological ages in excel, showing -/+ values.

 

Now as months got to 12 and not 10 excel is not playing ball, and I've got that Friday feeling where my brain doesn't function too well.

 

Anyone fancy a look for me?

 

I need the difference in months between columns I and H.jo.xls

Still not able to get around the issue, I need a way of telling excel that its dealing with months not numbers to 10

you can use =dollarfr to convert numbers into fractions instead of decimals on =dollarde to convert back to deicmal. Ive applied it to reading ages.

Have a look at this as an example and see if it works for you

Looks like it does the job, could do with some contraints on what you can enter though.

@pubgrub277 thanks mate, nearly got it working, i've edited it so it works out the chronological age of the child based on the date of the test taken and dob. But it's not shoing the months only the year difference. Now after working on this for a few hours I can no longer see the wood for the trees, can you spot my obvious mistake, because i Bl00*y can't

Hi.

 

Im actually looking for a less complicated version of this. I just have two coloums of ages (that are entered manually) and I want to know the differences between the two ages. There are no DOB coloums or date of test coloums.

 

Can you please help??!

I have spent more hours than I can count trying to make one of these. Unfortunately I can't seem to download the final version, just the samples. Any ideas on what might be wrong?
