strawberry Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Got the phone setup all done, but is there a way to setup a single IM identity that would go to more than one person?
glennda Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 If its like any other phone system can you not setup a ring group? i.e ring 300 and it rings phones 301, 302, 303 etc?
strawberry Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Yup, thats the bit I can do ( after a lot of fiddling! ) the bit i'm struggling with is the instant messaging feature

Geoff Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Lync doesn't support IM to response groups AFAIK without 3rd party software.
EduTech Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 These guys have a good piece of software for call centers. :-) might be a bit too much for what you want but I understand it is reasonably priced. Mobility and Contact Center Solutions for Microsoft Lync Server 2010 by AltiGen Communications, Inc. The phones they have are also very cool!! Regards, James.
strawberry Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 Drat, suspected that was the case. Shame as I wanted a single point of contact for the helpdesk . Thanks all
jamesfed Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 One thing you might want to keep in mind is that if you intend on using Lync for desktop sharing (to remotely fix issues) you have to get the user to click on any UAC prompts (unless you turn off UAC compleatly).
