MYK-IT Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 What is the situation if you have a ZD1000 (approx 2 years old) with another year remaining of a 3 year support contract? Hard to justify more expense trading up a device that is ~2 years old (with warranty/support contract remaining).
stefarr Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) Hi sounds like a good deal, i have some older HP access points etc that I'd love to trade in, i have sent you a PM with the info, could you have a look and let me know. Edited June 20, 2012 by stefarr
Haptic Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 What is the situation if you have a ZD1000 (approx 2 years old) with another year remaining of a 3 year support contract? Hi MYK-IT If the ZD1000 unit is being traded in, it must be purchased with at least 1 Year Support. Any existing Support cover (so in your case approx 1 year) will be transferred to the new ZD1100 unit.
fiza Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 How many Access Points can the ZD1100 control? The ZD1000 was limited to 50
Haptic Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Sweet avatar Yup the ZD1100 has the same upper limit on AP's (x50) The ZD3K - Can support up to 500 The ZD5K - Can support up to 1000 Joe

We have 50 but due to possible extension to the school may need to add 5-8 more units sometime in the near future if it goes ahead. Bet there is a big hike in price from the 1000 to the 3000 series? Haptic Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 no no no sir! The figures of 500 and 1000 are the maximum access point numbers. For the ZD3000 the license bands are as follows: ZD3025 (25 AP) ZD3050 (50 AP) from these 2 base units you can then mix and match on add on licenses to give an additional: 50, 100, 150, 200 AP's so you can expand to the level that suits up to the 500AP max. I'll give you a call to discuss options. Thanks, Mark
