rocknrollstar Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 We have a very simple ruckus system (9 access points, mix of b/g and b/g/n). There is only 1 WLAN with WPA2 encryption. This gives access to the school network. I have been asked to setup a guest network. Does anyone have any instructions to set this up? It only needs to give internet access, not access to our server files etc. And do I need to get users to change their proxy settings? We haven't got radius (?) or anything complicated. Any help appreciated. Thank you.
john Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 We have 3 Wifi SSIDs via our Ruckus, 1 is doing just what your current one is doing, the next is for Sixth Form and puts them to a different port on Smoothwall for a different Authentication (this is for BYOD so its SSL Authentication rather than NTLM) and then a third is for Guest Access and uses the Ruckus Portal and dumps them onto ADSL. This is achieved via 3 VLANs, so depending on how your Internet is proxies / available it can be done quite quickly with different VLANs 1
rocknrollstar Posted June 20, 2012 Author Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks. I don't think we have any vlans, no idea how to set it up really. Is this easy to do?!
john Posted June 21, 2012 Posted June 21, 2012 Depends on your switching and setup, plenty of info on here if you search for VLANs
