When I try to capture image/configuration, the HP units (t5135) just reboot a couple of times and return the error in Altiris: "can't boot to automation". Do I need to install an automation partition manually on each client, or should this already be preinstalled? If I need to install it, anyone know where the Linux pre boot OS files are? Anyone come across this error? Thanks

The t5135 terminals are a bit odd IHMO - I just purchased 30 of them. HP do not seem to recommend Altiris as the way to deploy these and the console won't change the host names on mine :(

The two recommended ways to go are either deployment via FTP or via a USB drive. Either way you need to use the wizardy thing on one of the terminals to create your config. I cheated and set them up manually (then locked them down).

Aww that's a bit rubbish. :( I like the HP units, but the lack of central management goes against them.

Thanks for the info Ric. Any idea whether this will change in a future update, or is it just likely to be the way it is? cheers

I'm hoping that there will be an update and i have posted on the Altiris forum to no avail :(

The t5125 terminals were great - they worked fine with Altiris. The strange thing is that the t5135 has the Altiris agent and all manner of Altiris settings in the config.

time to ressurect a nice old thread, we got 55 of these on the cheap and I have configured them locally with a usb key & setup ftp updating which seems to work ok to configure them on masse, also the power control at least is working through thte altiris deployment console.

Has anyone had any luck modifying any more settings?
