Joomla Problems (Urgent)

Hello all,

 

I've been given the task of solving a Joomla problem. It's running version 1.5 and the problem is that when a guest visits the school site, they're redirected to the login screen instead of the front page.

 

Despite this, when I click on the menu to the left (where it's supposed to go) it works fine. How can I achieve this so guests are automatically presented with the front page without being prompted to login.

 

This is an urgent request, so I need a Joomla guru ASAP please

Has this suddenly started happening, or any third party plugins installed?

It sounds like the page is set to registered and not public. This is done from the admin site. You need to find the frontpage and make sure the access level is set to public.

When I login as admin, and navigate to: Content > Front Page Manager, the page is set to Public.

Has any plugins be installed recently? If so, did it start doing that after they was installed?

Thanks very much chaps, all is working now.

 

I tried switching various options off/on and so I wonder whether or not there was a glitch?

 

Then kmount PM'ed me and said it was working, I then deleted my cache in IE9 and suddenly it worked as expected. Very odd, but the school will be pleased

Glad you got it working.

 

Is there any backup of it? If not, I would install https://www.akeebabackup.com/download/akeeba-backup.html I always install that in any Joomla sites

It's hosted by the LA and I believe they do take snapshots of it
