Google seem to have pushed out a Chrome update v19 and now it appears users are getting a blank / sign in to Google account page rather than our intranet home page!

Any ideas how to resolve? We're using the group policy items provided by Google, do they need updating?

I have noticed a few problems with v19 so far but not that one specifically.

Have you flushed the cache at all? I have found several issues with cache in the past stopping pages loading.

I'm seeing a similar issue, if the user opens the program from the start menu, they get a blank/sign in page, if they use the desktop shortcut, they get the intranet... no idea why yet!

I've also been having this problem, where instead of showing the homepage, Chrome has recently started opening with a sign-in page and buttons for:

Chrome Web Store

Gmail

YouTube

Google Search

Just found this description of the problem...

...with the advice:

Try setting it to "carry on where you left off" and then restart chrome, then set to a specific page (google.com) and restart chrome

Seems to have fixed it.

I spoke too soon - I'm now finding that if I launch Chrome it goes to the correct homepage, but if I then launch it a second time it brings up that "Sign-in" page.

Darn, this is getting annoying.

Not sure how we are going to make 1000 clients do this! Eek!

I fixed this by going into chrome settings. There should be a On startup little section. Select "Open a specific page or set of pages." then you set the page(s) that you want to see on statup.

Thank you it was starting to be really annoying!

Our users tried this and it makes no difference! Still comes up with the new tab page.

I had the homepage specified there, but Chrome ignored that and preferred to divert to the sign-in page on launch. So then I followed advice to alter that setting to something else, restart, change back to the homepage, restart. Now Chrome goes to the homepage when you launch the first instance, but if you launch another copy it goes back to the sign-in page again.

Someone's messed it up.
