So I have my appraisal tomorrow and in my previous one I did ask to get some ITIL/FITS based training done which they said is fine so I will do that. But is there any short courses or some training ideas/suggestions not expensive that would be a good idea to suggest?

I am a ICT Tech based in a primary school with an RM Network. Maintenance of the servers are done by the LA so disregard server training.

I graduated in computer engineering in 2005 but besides that no other IT related qualifications i can put down besides experience.

Any suggestions welcome.

CompTIA N+ might be a good one, although possibly not falling under the definition of "short" - but then, if you graduated with computer engineering you might know most of the network guff anyway.

Alternative idea might be to look at Open University modules - each module is fairly short and self contained and you can build it up overtime into a qualification. Although it's self-study you could just get an afternoon a week/fortnight set aside to complete it.

Look at the test out stuff. You'll get a edu discount which brings each course down to less than £200. Get the school to pay and agree some time to study. Much better than going off for a few days to study.
