[sims] Error 9 : Subscript out of range - SIMS .net reporting

My colleagues and I are all using the same version of Waters Edge and Excel and, in theory, all our laptops are set up the same.

 

However, when an identical report is run with an output to Excel, their output seperates neatly into seperate sheets in the workbooks (e.g. ethnicity or first Language) and I get "Error 9 ; Subscript out of range"!!!

 

We've checked Excel settings and we're all the same.

 

What am I missing? Why am I getting the error?

Do you have individual logons for using these laptops...? If so, have you tried logging on to one of the others to see if it might be caused by something in your user settings...?

 

Do you get a "Debug" button when the error comes up...? If so, click that and tell us what it says...

Ensure that all windows updates have been applied to the workstation.

 

Make sure you are on the latest version of SIMS (7.144) and import the latest report definition file.

 

this can also be an issue with the report macros and the version of Office you are running.

Try another user as has been mentioned. If you delete your 'My SIMS Documents' folder it will be recreated and should sort it. It's usually a template issue.

It is also worth making sure your Office install is fully updated and patched. That grouping is done via a Macro, so also worth lowering your Macro security while testing to see if that makes a difference.

Copy ReportData.enc from a working machine to your SIMS.net folder replacing the one that’s there

Copy ReportData.enc and ReportData.xls from a working machine into My Documents\tempSimsRpt

Run SIMS.net – and check that the previously broken reports now work
