ok strange on this i have 2 laptops 1 xp and 1 7 i have moved the user and the computer object in different ou's try and see if this an issue with windows 7 or some sort of gpo not applying or is applying

I myself can open xlsx files and pptpx files perfectly fine i even moved the user account and computer account into our ou's and i still get the same error message for excel it is

" the file is corrupt and cannot be opened"

for power point i get

"power point found a problem with content in filename goes here.pptx power point can attempt to repair the presentation etc etc" and i cant right click and save target as but i can as teacher which isn’t too bad just annoying but mainly need to try and get these files to open

i can open these files on my computer which is running windows 7 and i can open them fine on windows xp

it has to be some sort of group policy issue...or some sort of IE protected mode as i noticed that on the xp laptop says protected view and i need to enable it if i want to edit the document

any ideas would be great

Do you have caching of SSL pages turned off for that user? Everything from OWA is delivered via SSL so the attachment may never be dumped to the cache directory to be opened.
