One of dad’s work colleague who worked at a wood recycling place was leaning over a wood chipper (the industrial size ones, size of truck trailer.) when it fell out of his top pocket and got shredded. And in case you were wondering it was a Nokia 3510 so was years ago.

I worked for ICOM and I got a call from a guy asking what an IC-A1 was. I told him it was an airband handheld transceiver and did he want to buy one. It turned out he had found one in a field and wanted to try and return it to its owner. I traced the serial number to a dealer in Banbury and asked the chap to let me know how he got on. I forgot all about it and then a couple of months later I had a call from him saying he had just had the most wonderful weekend courtesy of the gentleman who had leaned out of his hot air balloon and watched as his radio plunged to the ground below. Honesty does pay.
