I need help from people who use the train services in london.

 

im looking up prices for my ticket, but not sure if tube service is included. Totally new to using public transport, i normally ride around on the motorbike.

 

I'm traveling from great yarmouth to sutton common. Whats the best cheapest way of getting there. need to be at sutton for 12 noon.

If you get a ticket that covers your whole journey without breaks the tube is included.

 

I would have a look at singles to London and get a oyster card if you going to be in London more that twice a year. If oyster doesnt cover your final leg to your destination then look at singles,

 

It's more bits of paper but can save lots of money!

I looked on thetrainline.com and it says £37.50 GYM to Sutton Common.

GYM - NRW (train)

NRW - London liverpool street (Train)

london liverpool street - farringdon (tube)

farringdon - sutton common. (train)

 

when i go the process payment it asks if i want to add a tube ticket. Do i need to add the tube ticket?

i quantified for a 16-25 railcard(im 23), so will be getting one of them.

You will need a tube ticket for thr 3 stop tube ride from Liverpool St to Farringdon. You pass through two separate barriers to get to the Tube from the Mainline and without a ticket you will be spot fined if you travel without one and get caught out.

 

The queues at the Ticket Office at Liverpool Street are mad all day long so if you can get a pre paid do so, however you can buy a zone 1 return in the ticket halls from a machine for the tube leg to dodge the tourist queues, the Cirlcle/Met/Hammersmith line is really quick with a train every few mins journey time 5 mins and the tube is 30 Seconds from the Mainline Platform.

journey time is around 4 hrs

Not sure about that m25. If it's a through ticket then it's usually valid via Underground for the connection, but not to alight/rejoin at intermediate stops. However, if this is the case, the ticket will be printed with a + next to the destination.

 

However, I seem to recall Farringdon being an odd case, because it's not a London Terminal.

 

If thetrainline has suggested that as a reasonable route, then it should be a through ticket and valid for the short underground stretch.

Don't use thetrainline as they have a booking fee, you can get the same price by using the website of the train operating company but without the booking fee.

Not necessarily, but EastCoast will sell tickets for any journey and have no booking fee.

 

If you collect Tesco Clubcard points, you can swap the vouchers for twice their value on redspottedhanky. Got a return from Grimsby to London for the Marathon paying just £6 that way the other week. Normally it's about eighty quid.
