mudcow007 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 hello all we have a draytek 2910 router with two wan links which are both working and are happy however starting today we are havign trouble connecting to the net. so far the only temp fix is to reboot the router, we get about 10 mins of internet then nothing, i have msn msger workign fine so it seems to me as port 80 may be being blocked but they are all turned off?! strange one??
RobC Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 First thing I would suggest is to test each link individually - disconnect the cable for link 1, and run link 2 until problems arise. If you get problems, reconnect link 1 and disconnect link 2, running until problems arise. If one or the other gives no problems then the problem lies with the disconnected link (if that makes sense!!!). Also, are you getting both links from the same ISP? If so, the above test might not provide worthwhile results. Regards, Rob Cowan.
Ric_ Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 It might also be worth looking at how much data is flowing through it... a worm could be battering the net connection and causing the router to give up.
Geoff Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 You can check that by looking at the network traffic over the routers. eg, via SNMP. Also you might want to look at the CPU and memory usage. If you have over large routing tables for instance, the router could be running out of memory.
