Hello all, ive had complaints today of a slow terminal server I checked in performance and page faults are varying between 35 and hundred but mostly staying around 60-70 I thought it maybe the virtual memory, at the moment the server has 4 GB and a page file of 4096. It says recommended page file of 5374mb Anyone any ideas how to stop the page faults??
-
it was set to 2046 but was recommended to have 5146?! so i have increased it to 4095 does that sound ok? its weird actually as you normally have to restart to apply that but it didn't request it? iw ill see how it goes

Thanks

i think i have sussed it it looks like dodgy thin clients not liking connecting to a rdc ts instead of a sh1trix server thanks for you help

right we have a few remote sites around the uk all with a seperate ip range 192.168.10.0 192.168.11.0 192.168.12.0 we have two TS which the sites connect to but im taking one of the TC offline for a full rebuild (its sick) problem is one of the sites can not connect to the second TC as soon as the user tries they get a "The terminal server ended the connection a network error has occured" i thought it might be something todo with routes but they look fine an dandy anyone any ideas?

i gave a load of old crt monitors to a charity shop they wouldn't take them until i PAT tested them first though old hard drives i normally break up as you cant really be too careful plus i get to play with the magnets inside then too

is the machine still in warranty? i never like opening laptops :?
-
up to date driver? failling that i woudl say it sounds (no pun intended) like a duff sound card?
-
we use 1300 (bit old now) and 1320 HP Desklaser printers tough as old boots only thing i have had to change on them in 3 years are the fuser units
-
what firmware version are you running? 2000 or 2003 domain? how are you joining it to the domain? this is where i was having problems, by joininig using the user name "administrator" it conflicts with the tera stations built in admin account so i created buff_admin with domain admin rights and have never had problems after that
-
cool i aint been brave enough yet to do the change. The licensing is held on another server (thankfully) i think i will be doign this tonight thanks for the replies
-
arnt you off migweb?! anyways, well i will have to do it tonight as the TC is in use during the day only 5 users which i cant seem to get off sh1trix so a member server will be ok running tc?
-
right... some of you may of seen i was ridding one of our servers of its dhcp responsibilities yesterday, today im going to demote it although it will still continue to be a terminal server (for a week or so) can anyone see any problems with this?
