Can ipad 3 connect through a proxy to use dictation feature?

Good Afternoon All,

We have an ipad 3 and weould like to use the dictation feature which works fine on home broadband but in school it doesnt. The ipad can get onto the internet fine in school and has the correct proxy setting etc.

Ive spoke to our ISP and they want to know which ports to open and the destination ip to allow the dictation feature to work.

Does anyone know how to find this out, ive tried googling and found this info about different ports but none about the ip.

Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products

Regards,

Danny

The vast majority of iPad apps are not proxy aware - there's nothing you can do sadly.

One reason why they still aren't great for "business" use - we use them fine for the kids, but the SLT who prefer them to laptops for ease of use have massive problems with productivity apps that are not proxy aware such as Skype and Dragon Naturally.
