I've enquired about upgrading our CS4 site license. I don't really want to do it, but adobe are only allowing upgrades from CS3 & 4 until the end of December, so I'm wary about us losing out on a big discount if we need to upgrade in future.

I didn't think that mattered. I thought if you bought that it meant that you got free upgrades for the life of your license but when that expired, you'd have to renew to continue or be stuck on the last version you had.

I just read that Adobe have dropped support for CS5. You now have to pay for an upgrade to CS6 for fixes:

Adobe only support the current and previous versions of Photoshop, so I am assuming they are classing Photoshop v12.1 (included with CS 5.5) as an entirely separate version despite being almost identical to Photoshop v12.0.4 (in CS 5.0)?

 

In May 2011, Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 (CS5.5) was released, with new versions of some of the applications. Its version of Photoshop, 12.1, is identical to the concurrently released update for Photoshop CS5, version 12.0.4, except for support for the new subscription pricing that was introduced with CS5.5. After seeing some of the bells and whistles of CS6 (basically, the platform is powered by voodoo), I am considering buying the subscription.

 

Question is - am I eligible for the student/teacher version for £22.46 a month for the full suite?

 

They say proof of academic eligibility will be required before shipping but don't say what that proof is.

From what I have read so far, the proof required is identical to the boxed edition.

Not yet, waiting till pay day...

 

They list the £22 price on their 'School Teachers and Staff' section of the site though, and we would be eligible under that section it seems.
