ipconfigHELP Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Hi, I have installed WSUS but it cannot see any client Machines. I have configured a GPO to point at the server but still nothing. Does anyone have any ideas or ways to test. thanks all
Geoff Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Have you configured the WinHTTP proxy settings with the client side 'proxycfg.exe' tool? How have the machines been deployed? Are they imaged?
ipconfigHELP Posted May 24, 2007 Author Posted May 24, 2007 No the machines are not imaged. Not confiured RIS yet.
Geoff Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Ok, assuming the WinHTTP settings are correct it might be the Windows Update client on the machines is too old. You can force this issue using the following command: wuauclt /installAUclientFromMicrosoft or wuauclt /installAUclient Alternatively, something might of gone wrong with IIS. Are there any errors in the event log on the WSUS server related to IIS or WSUS directly?
Ric_ Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Just a thought... have the machines definitely received the updated GPO? It might be worth running gpupdate on a couple to make sure.
tarquel Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 varied combinations of: /force /sync /boot with gpupdate always generally work for me Nath.
mattx Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 Have you checked the windowsupdate.log file in the system dir on a client ? That may give you a few clues as to whats going on [ or not ] If you don't see your WSUS server name in there then you know its not getting the policy correctly......
tosca925 Posted May 24, 2007 Posted May 24, 2007 I have a script to initiate this, if you have no luck give me a shout.
