Could it be integrated with your existing glasses?

 

There were reports a few months ago that Google had apllied to the FCC for permission to test a grounbreaking wireless product in its employees homes. Do we think this could be that product?

I hope they put them out, I don't trust Google as far as I could throw a stellar core fragment but if they can bring the prices down on the hardware enough to make less smarmy use cases viable it should be good. Google announces Google Glass Explorer Edition, $1,500 pre-order shipping next year

 

Google has just revealed a new Google Glass Explorer Edition of its prototype camera-equipped glasses at I/O 2012. Pre-orders are open today, only for attendees of the I/O conference, and will cost $1,500 for a delivery early next year. As Sergrey Brin himself confesses, this is by no means intended to be a consumer product, but Google's keen to get the Project Glass hardware out into people's hands and onto their faces.

If I had $1500 and went to I/O, I'd buy a set. I'd just have to figure out how to wear them with my real glasses without looking much more odd than I do now...

Personally, I am more excited about John Carmack's VR glasses (Oculus Rift). Not only will they be substantially cheaper, but probably more fun too.
