Live@edu email migration some figures

Just did a migration of my staff email from google to live@edu using the buil-in tools.

 

Some accounts didn't migrate but that looks like just login detail error so will sort that and re-run.

 

For 93 accounts it migrated 213235 items and took 3 hours.

 

The biggest mailbox that was migrated contains 27609 items, guess who's mailbox that is

Looks like you used IMAP built-in tools.

 

How did you migrate your calendar and contacts? Can't afford to lose them!

I doubt any of my users have used calendars, contacts I will get them to export them.

Interested as to why you went from google to live@edu?

 

We use live@edu ourselves and ive never used the google solution, is it not that good?

We allready had a live@edu tenant set up for the school domain but the lea provided staff & student email via google.

 

Now we are an academy we doing our own staff & student email so it made sense to use the system we are are used to administering.

We went from google to live@edu as well. Microsoft's products makes it easier and much more compatible when collaborating externally. We used a third party product called migrationwiz for our migration. We used calendars and contacts a LOT. they automatically migrated them. Other free tools needed too much time to learn and finesse

At those published prices it would have to automatically migrate everything... and train the staff afterwards.
