[fog] Does anyone know if you can use fog to image linux (ubuntu) machines?

I want to make a complete clone of our moodle box so I can work on it without worries.

However I'm not sure if i can use FOG to do this.

Has anyone done this yet and if so which image type did you use?

It should work fine as far as I know. A multi-partition image should do it I think. There's a bit about Linux clients here - Client Setup - FOGProject Wiki

 

However, if Fog doesn't manage it, Clonezilla would handle it.

yep, works fine we even have a CentOS image rolled out through FOG for servers

Fog won't image an ext4 partition because partimage doesn't work with ext4 (multiple sources).

 

That means Ubuntu 9.10 onwards (according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubuntu_releases) fwiw.
