reggiep Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 I want to make a complete clone of our moodle box so I can work on it without worries. However I'm not sure if i can use FOG to do this. Has anyone done this yet and if so which image type did you use? Thanks
localzuk Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 It should work fine as far as I know. A multi-partition image should do it I think. There's a bit about Linux clients here - Client Setup - FOGProject Wiki However, if Fog doesn't manage it, Clonezilla would handle it. 1
reggiep Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Thanks, I couldn't find that even though I'd seen it before. I have clonezilla on standby as well.
glennda Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Yes It works used it for migrating a server last summer
reggiep Posted April 2, 2012 Author Posted April 2, 2012 Yes It works used it for migrating a server last summer Did you use multi partition single disk? I'm about to give it a try!
glennda Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 Did you use multi partition single disk? I'm about to give it a try! Yup - it works same as windows pretty much
cpjitservices Posted April 2, 2012 Posted April 2, 2012 yep, works fine we even have a CentOS image rolled out through FOG for servers
mats Posted May 15, 2012 Posted May 15, 2012 Fog won't image an ext4 partition because partimage doesn't work with ext4 (multiple sources). That means Ubuntu 9.10 onwards (according to en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ubuntu_releases) fwiw.
