boyceyuk Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Just out of curiosity has anyone managed to successfully (or not!) upgrade their 1.5 installation to 2.5?
FN-GM Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 I did an upgrade to 2.5 from 1.7 last week. Just followed the instructions and it worked a treat. 1

Did you manage to keep the same Axerescheck template? I read on a post on here that some people experienced problems with upgrading their 1.5 to 1.7 and upwards. apparently the Axerescheck template isn't compatible?!
FN-GM Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 I wouldnt know we use a home made template. Sorry i cant be much help.
PernikDZK Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Ya there was an Tutorial how to do 1.5 ~ 2.5 when i did it i lost Every m***ing thing like from files to Plugins / Mods / Com/ Themes (last cuz was not so impo) i feel soo bad
dgsmith Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 You do realise this thread is over a year ago so the OP likely has since done the upgrade? FWIW, 1.7 to 2.5 is nothing like 1.5 to 2.5 - 1.7 is actually on the same backend as 2.5 so the upgrade is seamless, whereas 2.5 is a complete rewrite compared to 1.5 and requires a "migration" (whereby a new 2.5 site will be created from scratch and articles, data, modules etc will be copied over and installed individually). I used jupgrade for our site and it took about a week to get it to upgrade, then a further couple of days to get it tweaked, templates fixed, modules updated etc. 1
