dblight Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Hi all, Anyone using any Performance Management Software currently? We have all the data in Staff performance in SIMS but we are looking to hook some form of online version for staff to be able to track their own progress and see appraisals etc etc. Somewhere the staff could log into and used in a browser and pull the data from SIMS? I've looked at something called BlueSky that seems to be similar but details about it are very vague. Could anyone point me in a direction? anyone else do this currently? Cheers Darren
Sylv3r Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 Bluesky is one we have looked at but we are currently using a product called Schoolcentre. We also use it for SDP and the SEF. School improvement | school lesson planning tools with Schoolcentre Staff weren't too keen at first when we moved away from our paper systems, but now it's second nature to them.
glennda Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 We use Bluesky here Performance Management, CPD, Lesson Observation and School Improvement for schools and the education sector.
dblight Posted March 29, 2012 Author Posted March 29, 2012 ideal thanks, Do these systems link in with SIMS or are they independant? The sort of thing we want is what these offer but to use the SIMS data. I know Capita charge an obsene amount of money to access and write back to thier database so not really sure if any software has vntured into this area yet with them?
Sylv3r Posted March 29, 2012 Posted March 29, 2012 Nope everything is seperate from SIMS other than being able to upload .csv files of teacher names etc from SIMS initially - certainly the case for SchoolCentre anyway.
pete Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 We use Bluesky here Performance Management, CPD, Lesson Observation and School Improvement for schools and the education sector. How do your lot get on with this? What's the cost per year/person? One of our new hires used it in their previous school and seems to get on well with it, but then they're relatively young and self-starting, so I'd expect them to.
GREED Posted October 10, 2012 Posted October 10, 2012 A nice opportunity to mention Aspen MIS has en entire CPD management section, SIP tools and soon to have lesson observation and management facility. Built into the MIS

Not a clue regarding cost - Teaching staff used it extensively and I believe it works well. I no longer work there but they also used this for lesson observation recordings St Paul's Professional Centre -- Online Lesson Observations: Overview
KJ1408 Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Only just come across this but thought you'd like to know about Bluewave SWIFT. Generally higher end cost wise but much more sophisticated and links everything intelligently rather than manually (like those mentioned above I fear). Good videos here BluewaveSWIFT's channel - YouTube
Sylv3r Posted February 4, 2013 Posted February 4, 2013 Theres a new PM Module due out for SIMS very soon also - i've seen mock ups of the screen but not sure of the actual date of release. No cost I believe as it's part of the Core SIMS package.
