Exchange unbale to send emails externally

We have just taken over the running of a exchange server 2007 box that is running on server 2003r2 but we are unable to send email externally. we are able to send email internally still. Can anyone help?

look at the exchange send connector under organisational and Hub Transport - it is probably trying to forward to a smart host which is unreachable.

what's mentioned in the Queue Viewer? they should all be backing up in there with a reason why the queue isn't working.

 

Is your AV blocking access to port 25?

What happens when you try to send an email? In the queues? NDR?

Has it ever worked?

You wont have a send connector, you're using Exch 2003, your issue my be different, as mentioned in your other post, check the logs.
