Stuart_C Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Just looking at some KMS options. I would assume that if I've installed Windows from the volume licencing site and the OS version is listed as KMS Client version then I don't need a Key, they connect to my KMS sever and away I go (licence count limit permitting) I've got some machines from my PC supplier which are listed as "Description: Windows Operating System - Windows® 7, VOLUME_MAK channel" which are all activated. Is it possible to get these to use my KMS server? i.e. I need to get my activation count so that the KMS server will start activating machines. Can I use the Win7 KMS key that I have and just stick it in. Can I blank out, what I assume is a MAK key, so there is no key and it will try and use my KMS server? Am I totally stuffed as it would need a Volume_KMS version of the OS to start with?
FN-GM Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 If you change the serial number to one of the below it will make the computer look for the KMS server. Rather than using the MAK key installed. qcomer Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Cheers. I'll give that a go over Easter. Use Microsoft VAMT to do this. Volume Activation Management Tool. It will let yo uchange keys on all of your clients for Office/Windows and also force them to KMS activate. You can do all of your machines at once.
