mac_shinobi Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 Return VAT on Air Ambulance fuel payments. - e-petitions Thought it was a worthy cause and lots of people on here - figured most if not all would be willing to sign said petition 2
SteveBentley Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 I'd go further - the government/NHS should fund the air ambulances rather than leaving them reliant on charity donations. Charity should be for added extras, and the air ambulances have shown time and time again that they are essential for life saving. 4

laserblazer Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Signed. It's outrageous that they have to pay VAT!
sted Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Signed. It's outrageous that they have to pay VAT! its outrageous that with all the rubbish the government does fund they cant fund air ambulances
laserblazer Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 its outrageous that with all the rubbish the government does fund they cant fund air ambulances I believe the last thing the RNLI would want is government funding. Maybe the Air Ambulance is the same?
SimpleSi Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 the air ambulances have shown time and time again that they are essential for life saving. But unfortunately they are extremely poor value for money They can save lives that wouldn't have been saved and that is great but the NHS (e.g Joe Bloggs thru taxes) simply cannot afford to fund them. But it probably wouldn't break the bank to cut them some slack on fuel VAT as that is a lot better in the value for money stakes Si
