Greetings. Can anyone confirm that if you swap over an existing standard wall mounted smartboard 580 with a 680 the space/height etc will be more or less the same? I assume it would, but you never know with these things for sure! Also the bracket - does the 580 one fit the 680?

Of course I know the cable will need changing, but otherwise nothing else should be disrupted right?

A few possible upgrades are on the horizon. Anyone else done this?

680 is bigger so you could potentially have an issue with your projector image size being a little small depending on the throw etc. 680 also has a different mounting bracket that will need changing.

Its nowhere near a fresh install really.

The brackets will need chaging, but the screw holes are the same, just use a slightly longer screw.

So, old board off, swap the bracket, new board on. A 680 is only 5" diagonally bigger than a 580, so at first you'll have a 2.5" (ish) border around the screen. You'd be very unlucky if your projector has been fitted in a position such that it won't zoom out too fill that gap. Once it's all lined up, fit the new cable, and drill and screw the two bottom mounting holes. Fit the pen tray and orient, Done! The biggest problem you might have (assuming the projector doesn't need moving) is if any trunking, conduit, wall boxes etc foul the new bigger board, but the 680's stand off the wall more than th 580's so even this can help.
