With the rumoured Office for iPad soon I wonder if (if at all) and how it would be available on the ESS scheme - how would they do that?

I cannot see how they could do it through the app store. Maybe they could have you download a container app for free and then enter a serial code for an in-app purchase to the version you are entitled to.

Hmmmm - would those with iPads download it?

Its possible already to view, create and edit office documents already on the iPad using Dataviz Documents to Go see Here. Its quite highly rated but quite a few features within the applications are missing, though this does not detract from its usefulness.

They wouldn't. :)

Not going to work...

  • Apps that download code in any way or form will be rejected.
  • Apps that unlock or enable additional features or functionality with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected.
  • Apps utilizing a system other than the In App Purchase API (IAP) to purchase content, functionality, or services in an app will be rejected.
