Hi there

I appreciate that this topic has become a little stale since 2012, however I wondered whether you'd moved on at all since then and made any progress or improvements taking into account later versions of Ubuntu and LTSP?

I'm working on a similar project trying to give some old Thin Clients a new lease of life as the hardware currently doesn't connect to a Broker based RDP system.

Hoping PXE'ing in this manner will negate the need for the original firmware currently lacking the capability.

Thank you for sharing your progress.

We've moved to web-based clients, converting older machines to use ChromeOS using CloudReady, which despite being installable on older standard-PC hardware still makes a ChromeOS device that can be managed via the GSuite control panel, so you can set up a device to load a web page in kiosk mode. For web-based remote access we use AccessNow, although if I understand correctly newer versions of Windows Server do web-based remote access themselves now.
