I remember the story about the old lady that cut of the internet in Georgia, wasn't she looking for scrap metal. But to be fair to the lady wasn't the cable can’t have been buried very deep by the sound of it.

When we were in Uluru (Ayers Rock) last Easter, the whole of central Australia for cut off thanks to a digger driver somewhere north of Adelaide. It was chaos... no cash machines, no internet, no banking, no card payments. Thankfully it was repaired in about 36 hours.
