gcurran1982 Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Hi hoping someone else has had this problem. Had one of the machines go down first thing today, got the usual bluescreen telling you to reset. Booted up in safe mode and it hangs at mup.sys. Figured i'd just run the repair console but when i try to boot from the XP install disk it hangs at "inspecting your computers hardware" and then reboots?? Any ideas on what to do?
Templar Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Found this a while ago that may help mate Recovering from a mup.sys boot hang on windows 2000 or XP. What is mup.sys anyway!
gcurran1982 Posted February 27, 2012 Author Posted February 27, 2012 I could do but the image is old (my fault) which would mean quite a bit of work for me after. I can put it into another machine as a slave but i'm not sure what to do after that.
round2it Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 Have you tried changing the RAM on the machine ,I have had a couple of machines that would not run xp install because of faulty ram
ToyHeartsFan Posted February 27, 2012 Posted February 27, 2012 +1 ram test 1st then download hdd diags from hdd manufacturer and run extended hdd test +1 system restore you will probably have to reimage though...
