After taking a bit of time to load( damn net)

 

they all looked ok to me in IE8 , only Gems nails was a bit faulty

Have you looked at it in Fireworks also?

You've got some text above the 'doctype' tag in the first three sites. This will put browsers into 'quirks mode', which can have unpredictable results.

Try moving

Having content outside the tags is generally a bad idea, as different browsers handle it differently resulting in an inconsistent look accross different browsers.
