Promethean Board - area on board not responsive

I have a promethean baord connected to a MAC and when I calibrate it, the area at the top left where you make the first click on the first crosshair needs quite a hard tap to get the calibration software to go to the next crosshair.

 

I've upgraded drivers but not firmare as I did not have the firmware upgrade to hand when I visited the site.

 

Any help would be gratefully received.

I don't know if this applies to Promethean boards but definitely does to our older TDS boards, there are corner marks to show where the board is sensitive / not.

Thanks Mr Librarian. I may have made that mistake. I'm new to these boards. I'm aware that some boards have marks to guide you where to align the projector image. I will check this when I go back on site. I know I was tired and a bit hassled by the kit being messed up by a previous user, so I may have missed this!!

Hi there,

 

One thing to look out for - if you have a board which has the "white" light in the top left corner, if the image is fully covering the light and the board has been calibrated like that, the board actually understands it as being a "active" part of the board. You might need to adjust your projector so the whole "light" is not covered.

 

Or, like TheLibrarian says, if you have one of the older models, there are "right angles" in each corner which the image must be inside.

Thanks for the info. I will store it away in my shell like. in the end a firmware upgrade fixed the issue. I always think it's funny how smartboards and promethean boards work fine then just throw the toys out the pram and need driver and/or firmware updates.
