The Start button is now on your keyboard... ;)

Where it has been for the last 15 years at least!

The point I was trying to make is that it will be quicker to press the Windows key on your keyboard to bring up the Start Screen, type the first few letters of whatever you are looking for and press Enter, than it would be to move your mouse all the way to the bottom left corner, wait until the Start Screen appears and then click on a tile or scroll right until you find what you are looking for.

Fear not though, the Start button functionality isn't as dead as it seems. We have confirmed with sources close to Microsoft's Windows 8 development that a hot corner has replaced the Start button orb. (Source)

In essence this will equate to moving the mouse pointer (if on a PC) into the corner which will fire up the new full-screen Metro-style start screen. Tablet users will be able achieve the same result by flicking their finger to the same bottom left corner of the screen. (Source)

Yes it would be quicker to use the Windows button from the keyboard, but I'm so used to the start button that I'd still drag my mouse across the screen to click the start button. You know what they say; old habits die hard...

Does anyone know where the download page will be yet? I'm guessing it may be in the same location as the Developers Preview on the Windows 8 news page here: Windows 8 news - Microsoft Windows but if anyone knows any different please let us all know.

I know there are quite a few builds circulating on various torrents, but given the almost daily build that goes on I'd avoid these with so little time to wait.

I think a link will be posted on dev.windows.com when the Consumer Preview is available.

What's with the little running man on the spacebar?

Not sure. I have never seen him on any other laptops before. Maybe it is because you typically use the spacebar to jump in games

We should be able to download the CP shortly after 2.00 p.m. GMT I think.

The download is expected to go live around 9 AM EST and we highly expect the severs to get slammed with traffic.

While we do not have any specifics, we have heard that the download size for the x64 build is a little over 3GB in size, which is quite a bit larger than Windows 95 which weighed in at 19 megabytes. (Source)

What's the point of downloading the ESDs if you can't do anything with them (see link above)?

I have stopped my download. I just wanted to get my place on the servers in case it could be used :)
