shenley Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I have used all of these except for Unity and I fully concur that these products are a hindrance. Link: Ten flawed products that derail productivity
tech_guy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I haven't looked, but is Windows on the list?
sparkeh Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Acronis: Yes - awesome when its working, hellish if something goes wrong. Unity: agreed. Flash: Yes, yes, yes! Hopefully it will die soon. Regarding AV i do not agree with this: "Some business-class antivirus tools actually work — Symantec Endpoint Protection is one" - I am not a fan.
achedgy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Outlook talks just lovely to my exchange server thanks, all it needs is internet access
sonofsanta Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I think Adobe in general can be added. Acrobat is a pain and has plentiful updates, despite supposedly being software designed for a format meant to be completely secure, at least until the feature creep kicked in. Flash is obviously a pain. AIR and Shockwave similarly afflicted. Acrobat Pro occasionally decides that the installation source is corrupted forcing me to repatch/rebuild the MSIs. Creative Suite has many well known shenanigans. Just... such PITA
