craiglay Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I think if you have multiple access points with the same SSID the laptop will try to connect to the strongest signal automatically. I also think they can "roam" between access points if the signal degrades too much. See the advanced tab in the device manager. If the SSID's are different, i'd have thought the laptop will connect to the access point highest on the prefered networks list. Craig
plexer Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 With an unmanaged system about the best you can do is to use mac filtering to split laptops up between multiple access points in one room. Otherwise they use typical microsoft logic as to which AP to connect to. This may not be the one with the strongest signal. Ben
