Quackers Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Anybody run this? It sounds nice, but i'm wondering how parients access information. Does it intergrate with active directory and the parient logs in as the student and see's the data? or is it another several hundred logins to manager just for parient access?
nicholab Posted May 15, 2007 Posted May 15, 2007 HaHa you merge AD to the way SIMS wants it with exciting accounts then access is driven by the SIMS database. SIMS runs the network access it also another lock in to SIMS. It only cost 20K + on going costs.

We had a (not very good - the person was duff, rather than the software) demo of this in Feb, and from what I can recall, parents' accounts would have to be added separately. The rest (pupils & staff) would be harvested from AD. Any VLE would have to be added to the bundle (Capita recommend Granada's LearnWise. I won't comment on it as I haven't seen it in action) you could try thisone or search the ICT Register for "sims learning platform"
