Hope someone can help with a home problem:

I have sky with a sky router..

I have a NAS which has the web access ability.

I have read on the instructions that I need to port forward across the router in order to use this.

Now I am lost, can someone advise on what I am needing to do, and maybe even how? If even possible with the kit I have.

Basically I want to be able to access my NAS over t'nternet using it's web front end built in (simply by access it's address)

Thanks in advance all.

Jump on Instant Messenger mate.. ;-) I did this before with my Sky Router back a few years ago. (i am guessing they still throw out netgear routers?)

For Reference:

- Login to Router (UN: Admin PW: sky)

- Select 'Security' > Firewall Rules > Inbound Rules

- Select 'Add'

- Select your Service i.e. PORT

- Action = Allowed Always (unless you want to use a schedule)

- Send to LAN Server = IP Address of NAS

- WAN Users = ANY (unless you lock it down to specific IP Addresses)

- LOG = ALWAYS

If your port is not under the 'Services' drop down box then you need to add a custom service

- Select ' Security' > Services

- Add Custom Services

- Specify Name and Port

Hope that helps,

James.
