Oaktech Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 (edited) Hi, I have inherited what i assumed to be a working version of HAP, but recently it has stopped allowing users to download/open work, quitting at the point of download with an "internet explorer was not able to open this internet site the requested site was unavailable or could not be found" Please speak slowly and use simple language whilst explaining any solutions as i have no idea how hap works, i'm not even sure which of our servers it is installed onto, however as i have no network manager to defer to i have to try and fix it! *EDIT* the download works on firefox, but not in IE... What is the content expiration option in IIS6 set to? it's hap 7.6.1031.1800 I don't have access to IIS7 there is no tick in the content expiration box under http headers...

Oaktech Posted January 19, 2012 Author Posted January 19, 2012 right, i've tried the content expiration setting, with a stop/start of hap in the IIS application pool it doesn't seem to make a difference. I will try the upgrade to 7.9 and see how that goes. Thankyou very much for your help so far, i may be back to you on this tomorrow!

nickbro Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Another thing you can try: Check the event viewer on the server for any errors in the HAP+ Event Log From the basic version, you need to get the download url (right click view source is a good start) paste that into the address bar, and add ?inline=1 to the end of the url, it should give an asp.net error hopefully.

If i enter this with the ?inline=1 entered at the end of the url it downloads... Does this make the situation any clearer?

Oaktech Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 ok, I've copied our existing configuration to another directory in its entirety, copied the 7.9 upgrade into the hap directory and checked it works (without the styles which are in the old one!) then i've replaced the files in the 7.9 config with the ones in your zip file, stopped and started the site from IIS and i still have the same fault

Oaktech Posted January 20, 2012 Author Posted January 20, 2012 (edited) Ok, i've reverted back to the previous version and something wierd is going on... When i login, go to my homedrive and click to download something it gives me a url that it fails to download. If i then click on something else the url it is attempting to download is the same as before, it looks like it is ignoring the rest of the contents of the folder and trying to download the same thing each time. Similarly, on my colleagues machine if i try and download things, most of them fail, but i have got 1 jpg to download, now anything else I click on downloads as that 1 jpg? confused .com! EDIT! This behaviour persists in extended version, but the download seems to work in basic version... Edited January 20, 2012 by Oaktech
