MrPstv Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Months have passed and we have connectivity from ipad to server All good and well !!! How would (could) i configure it to let users accessing own area (documents) Using the utility in pages or keynote to transfer files from ipad to a shared area on the server is fine, need to be able to have a user gain access to home drive on Server 2008 R2. Setup in the same way as you would using any other networked windows based machine. Using Active Directory i guess . ??? Any ideas please???
dan41322 Posted January 18, 2012 Posted January 18, 2012 Is that possible?! Would be awesome if it could! The App I use to browse the network on an iPad is called FileBrowser if that is any help to you? You can customise it to show only certain shares and lock it down so that people can't add Shares they shouldn't be accessing. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=filebrowser%20app%20ipad&source=web&cd=1&ved=0CC4QFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fitunes.apple.com%2Fgb%2Fapp%2Ffilebrowser-access-files-on%2Fid364738545%3Fmt%3D8&ei=rd4WT_SxHc6p8QP3lYT9Ag&usg=AFQjCNGDp2Nq57MTxx1PVBHk4-4-A8fmcw
psydii Posted January 19, 2012 Posted January 19, 2012 Try this page for starters IIS7 WEBDAV and UNC PATH to Windows File Servers : The Official Microsoft IIS Site
Roberto Posted January 20, 2012 Posted January 20, 2012 If they're shared, and ipad is remembering credentials then my worry wouldn't be "how can users access their own areas", it would be "how do I stop them accessing someone else's area via previously saved credentials".
MrPstv Posted January 23, 2012 Author Posted January 23, 2012 Thanks for the info guys, still need more!!, we need webdav set up for single user devices and shared devices. This i know will be a pain to sort.
