windows 7 testing

Hi All,

 

I am working at a university and I have been assigned a project on testing windows 7. I am completely new to windows 7 and this is my first project. Can someone please guide on how to plan all this out.

I would start simple:

 

build a machine and start asking it to do all the things you would ask a windows xp box to do with all the software you would normally use.

 

find out what fails, what software doesn't work, what UAC obstructs, what work flows will have to change, what XP GPOs work, which don't/screw it up...

 

and start trouble shooting from there!

I would do similar to Oaktech. Are you running on a server 2003 domain or server 2008?
