Accessing local C drive when networked - Snow Leopard server

Snow Leopard server with iMacs running Lion 10.7.2.

We have now successfully managed to move from mobile accounts to a 'proper' network environment - Phew. Space as always is an issue on the server and staff had, prior to getting the network, been saving to their C drive. Is there a way to create a shortcut with full access to their local C drive once they are logged in. At present this does not seem possible.

When you say the C drive are you talking about a Windows partition from a Bootcamp setup?

Go to WGM and then choose a group to manage. Click on the preferences icon and then choose Finder. In here you will see the options to show Hard Disks on the desktop. This will display the Macintosh HD icon on the desktop for each user logging in.

You may need to make a folder that is RW (chmod 777) for all users on Macintosh HD. We do this for iMovie use on the local machine.
