Does anyone know an easy way to stamp the PC hostname to the Windows 7 backgroundDefault.jpg image?

We are using Bginfo via Group Policy for stamping user desktops, but that doesn't work for the pre-logon desktop image as far as I can see.

Anyone got, or know of, a script that will write the hostname to the backgroundDefault.jpg image? (maybe using ImageMagick or similar)

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Cheers_

I do this by running BGInfo in a shutdown script.

Err, well at least on XP I do, W7 I've not invested the time to try it yet.

I can get it to work on W7 for user desktops, just not the pre-logon wallpaper (backgroundDefault.jpg).

BGinfo (as far as I know) only creates Bitmap files and not JPEGs.

So, the only thing I can think of at the moment is some way of stamping the PC Hostname onto the backgroundDefault.jpg
