Eastern churches base festival dates on the Julian Calendar rather than the Gregorian calendar, so Christmas day ends up on the 7th January on our Gregorian calendar, which is December 25 on the Julian Calendar if that makes sense!

Plus St Nicholas day is on 6th December. Each year I polish up my shoes, take em round my mums house and leave them there on the 5th December, come back on 6th December to find chocolates, and a gift...and same with my daughter and mrs Its something nice for the kids really

thats right! all the differances in the Calendars . its like Cheenese celebrate the New year in Frebruary if i am not mistaken...
