Now we have a Dell 3110cn laserjet printer which has a transfer belt unit close to life, meaning its going to die soon. What would be the best option for the school? i.e. to get a replacement for the belt unit which is about £300 inc vat!, or to purchase the complete pack which includes belt unit, rolllers, & fuser kit to prevent false economy for about £400 inc vat!, or just forget it and buy a new printer! Please help Thanks

Millgate Posted December 21, 2011 Posted December 21, 2011 Sorry about not getting back to you, i found the info and forgot to post it The printer is basically a 2nd hand one and i asked about the parts inside it and they just said "we make sure it's working, we may not even need to replace parts" Like i said, there's a 30 days warranty on it. timbo343 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 Do some future costings for toner cost and page life on these toners then you will see what the benefits are if you move away from the 3110c. We have one at work, and the cartridges do about 8000 pages each.
lazkopat Posted December 27, 2011 Author Posted December 27, 2011 Which printer do you have? The 3110cn prints upto 8000 pages if you were to purchase a high-capacity toner than a standard one which is 3000 I think.
timbo343 Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 We get the 8000 page ones but not originals as tgey are a hell of a lot cheaper and do the job without any problems.
