synaesthesia Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Looks like the last-day stress of everyone constantly hammering Youtube for their jolly based videos has taken its toll! No youtube! Mass panic
andy_nic Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 we are getting 'Authorization error' but mobile youtube works or just try this link YouTube - Broadcast Yourself
synaesthesia Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 Yeah, suspect EMBC have just URL blocked. Our staff pointed this out to us as they'd just been googling the link and going direct
localzuk Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 This is due to the new 'Youtube for Schools' I believe. Try going to youtube.com/videos. Works for us here.
synaesthesia Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 I doubt/hope that isn't the case - I'd say EMBC (or anyone) would be fairly obliged to inform anyone of such a change.

Netwseeper seems to be causing issues. We're on Netsweeper here and are having issues with it, and lots of other Netsweeper users are having issues too (there's another thread discussing it here - http://www.edugeek.net/forums/internet-related-filtering-firewall/87277-youtube-schools-launched-5.html) There's mention of EMBC in there from @GrumbleDook
X-13 Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I was just looking at the tube of you, to see if we have the same problem. OMG, Youtube is hideous now. Any clue on how to trigger the error? I was just hurping and durping around the site and it all seems fine here.
zag Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 I think our internal video server is melting too!
DrCheese Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Go to youtube.co.uk if you get the auth error... or any video link directly and it'll work
AceDaz Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 We are near Preston and have the same error as well, was working the other day. They have updated the homepage, so probably something to do with that. Netwseeper seems to be causing issues. tech_guy Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 At times like this may I suggest wearing this T-Shirt: All She Got Star Trek T-Shirt
GrumbleDook Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 It is a general fault and being investigated and EMBC have not made any changes to allow for YouTube for Schools yet ... so not likely to be linked to that unless Google have changed something their end.
synaesthesia Posted December 16, 2011 Author Posted December 16, 2011 At least it wasn't on a particularly productive week Flicking through all the classrooms remotely and playing "guess the film" was at least entertaining!
