Live@edu - losing documents

We've got some 2500 students with Live@edu accounts. I have had a few reports of students working in the live versions of both Excel and Word returning to their Skydrives to find their documents haven't saved.

 

This is not something that I have been able to recreate.

 

Has anybody else experienced this? Is there a common symptom for documents that don't save?

 

Any advise will be welcome.
