Apple os5 update via proxy

Heya,

 

Trying to update from os 4.3.3 to os 5.1? and it keeps getting stuck on "verifying ipad restore with apple" i'm doing this at work through our proxy. Has anyone had similar problems?

 

There's a heap of stuff on macrumours about deleting files and reinstalling itunes and the servers being busy whenh the update first came out but i'm now stuck!

Yeah I’ve helped a few people in school with this or it getting stuck at one point and having to do another resync and it worked fine as long as the user had done a sync before the upgrade. it think it does delete all files from the device then restores after the upgrade.

Slight update i've managed to get it to run on a PC but not on the mac, the PC asked for the proxy password again when it got to the verifying part so it would seem the mac doesn't like the fact you have to use a password for the proxy.
