Toffy stuck up pillock Cameron and his Kitchen.

The Daily Fail has an article today on Cameron's Kitchen - basically showing a 165 quid toaster and the rest. They have now removed it but to me it shows just what this toffy nosed :censored: is all about. All in it together but :censored: up half a million quid doing up Downing Street.

It is the fact these people think it is normal to spend £6k on a kitchen table or £165 on a toaster that divorces them from the reality of everyday life in the UK.

The nearest thing I could find was this Guardian article but it's quite old:

David Cameron spent £680,000 of taxpayers' cash on Downing Street | Politics | The Guardian

If anyone has a link to the Daily Fail article then please re-post it. Thanks......

I doubt that this is the article you are looking for [Last updated at 7:44 AM on 27th May 2011] however it seems to have similarities to the 'missing' report you alluded to:

Seems like the Daily Mail/Mail On-Line has a thing for doing reports like this.

Edit: Mail On-Line also ran this story:

...Dualit toaster: Four-slice Dualit toaster, £199.99, House of Fraser...

TBH, both Blair an Brown probably spent a fortune on doing up number 10 when they moved in as well. It doesn't make it right though.

Agree. I just hate the constant double standards of this current lot. I used to really enjoy politics but now as more and more MPS see this as a career and NOT as actually representing constituents I get turned off more and more. I was an active party member of the left up until a few months ago - not anymore. So disgusted at the in-fighting locally and the lack of direction I refused to sign up for another year. This country has just done downhill is so many ways. I just hope when my kids grow up they see the light and emigrate.

Perhaps some of us should start a political party? I'm happy to take the lead.

Need some names though.

As for the article...I don't bother anymore with how much they spend on renovations provided they don't do it from the public purse. If its their own pocket then fair enough, but from the tax payers and I get annoyed.

Number 10 is a 334 year old grade 1 listed building in Westminster, London with around 100 rooms. Any kind of building work is going to be expensive. Why is this surprising?

I bet the bomb-proof front door costs more than what a teacher or nurse would earn in a year, yet the PM at the time (John Major) wouldn't have paid for it out of his own pocket.

Also note they say the PM paid for the furniture, fittings, etc. So he probably paid for the toaster. If he earns the money, may as well spend it. I dare say he does more work with more responsibility then anyone here and there are people who earn more then him in the UK.

2- and quoting frankie boyle - " the party doesnt matter, it is like voting in a slightly different type of :censored:! "

Being happy to take the lead should instantly reserve you a place against the wall, to my mind.

What difference is one more political party going to make? Power corrupts etc......

As a famous man once said, 'There is no political solution to our troubled evolution'.
