rspruijt Posted December 2, 2011 Posted December 2, 2011 Using PaperCut NG 9.8 (Build 9360) Setting up a "Schedule / Email Reports" to send an update log weekly. Manual says the following about a weekly report under "Scheduling and Emailing Reports" under "Details", Period: Weekly, Report Run Time: Every Sunday in the early morning, about 01:15. Report Date Range: The previous week, from Sunday to Saturday. Ideally I would like to amend the PaperCut configuration so that email reports are: (1) sent ever Friday afternoon at 3pm, and (2) for the date range to cover the entire period of the log (e.g. to reference the period set in Reports > Group Reports > Group). Even if just option (1) could be amended somewhere that would be terrific! Anyone know how to make this happen?
sister_annex Posted March 12, 2012 Posted March 12, 2012 Not sure about v9 we're on 12 but in the advanced options you can change the day and time of scheduled reports. The papercut kb is great it may be worth checking there first. I'm home now but if you don't find a solution by morning I'll check our server HTH
sister_annex Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 OK so had a look again this morning - you need to go to Options > Config Editor (Advanced) Search for scheduled-reports.day-of-month (NOTE: Day 1 is Sunday) Looking at it i am not sure if you can change the time HTH 1
Edu-IT Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I'd agree with that. It doesn't look like you can change the time through any options we can see, only option is to run it on demand. Speak to support and see whether they have any suggestions?
sister_annex Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I think you can change the time but it changes it globally so all other tasks that run will run at that time also (user updates etc)
rspruijt Posted March 13, 2012 Author Posted March 13, 2012 Thank you both for your replies I went to 'config editor' as you suggested and performed a quick find on 'sched' which brought up the result 'schedule:weekly' The value for that field was set to '0 20 0 ? * 1' which according to PaperCut KB | ChangeScheduleTime presumably means that a weekly scheduled task is set to run at 12:20am every Sunday. However, I am currently receiving the emails at 1:15am on Sunday morning, which matches the field 'schedule.daily-maintenence'. Is this because the Papercut settings rely on cron jobs which do not run natively on a Windows server?
sister_annex Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 The 'schedule.weekly' entry is explained here: System Backups I think the emails are sent as part of the daily maintenance so changing the time in the 'schedule.daily-maintenance' field to something as described on PaperCut KB | ChangeScheduleTime will mean that the scheduled tasks will run at [insert Time Here] every day. This will include all the daily tasks, such as, user & group sync, DB Backups etc. This in conjunction with a change of day (scheduled-reports.day-of-month) will mean that you get the reports you are after when you want but it will move all other tasks around also
