PVP vs PVE in general - what do you prefer?

Triggered by idle curiousity about the SWOR poll results and the lack of enthusiasm for PVP therein.

 

I prefer PVP, but then I play Eve Online where it's all PVP - if you want to explode someone you can do it anywhere at any time.

PvE for me, I much rather prefer playing multi-player games cooperatively rather than blasting/being blasted by everyone in a kind of ground-hog day nightmare.

I prefer RP-PVP as it generally blends into the setting more.

Personally I play EVE and do the minimal ammount of PVP that I can. In 2 years i have probably killed around 3 players and never solo. I prefer PVE in a small gang of friends, selling loot directly to the market.

I hesitate to ask, but what exactly were you RP? Intergalactic Fluffer?

I think he means someone else had that name. RP servers have name restrictions that ban silly names like that (supposedly).

 

Personally I find the community better on a server with RP rulesets. The gap is smaller now in WoW mind you due to cross-server tech coming in. Still can't forget some of the terrible PvP servers I saw where setting foot in a city filled the screen with all sorts of racist and homophobic garbage.

 

I'm that player all RP'ers hate though. I use their server but never join in with the setting.

Yea RP servers are 'generally' left alone by the people specifically out to cause grief.

 

I give my characters, legitimate names for the setting which then gets cancelled out by the Captain Cockwashes or n00bkill3r etc.

PvP has to be done right (for me DAoC had great PvP) but i do enjoy scripted fights and making sure 20 or so people do their jobs.

PVE all the way for me.

I have always disliked PVP (and that goes way back when my twitch skills were on par and not dulled by the steady onslaught of years).. and I play these games to be entertained, not to be someone elses entertainment
